Who We Are - Friends of Pontoosuc

The purpose of the Corporation is to maintain and improve  the quality of Pontoosuc
Lake, a Class B water body of approximately 493 acres lying within the town of
Lanesborough and City of Pittsfield in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. 

This purpose is to be achieved by: 

1) Providing advice to all public agencies which are
directly or indirectly responsible for the management of Pontoosuc Lake and its
watershed, 

2) Coordinating and integrating all activities which impact the lake, 

3)Organizing volunteer actions which will directly improve the lake and 

4) Raising public and private funds to assist in the foregoing activities.
